Global template: Secret 1 / 2
« on: March 06, 2025, 10:45:04 PM »
Hi,

What is the purpose of the two settings in NT Global template / Advanced:
Secret 1 and Secret 2 ?

I cannot locate the info for Global template in the extensive NT docs.

Hi Poul,
I believe that they are used for encrypting records.  Maybe a primary one that is used and a secondary one.  They may be more important for disconnected apps but I am not sure.
Maybe Bruce can be more specific.

Search for set:secret in the webserver procedure.

It's made up from those fields in the template and then set:secret is used for things like storing the encryption password for TLS certificates.
