reload page before or after an alert message

Is there a command (or way) to reload or refresh a page before or after an alert message when updating a record?

Hi Bruce,

Never mind. I have two page headers and two footers in my application. One set is for when the user is not logged in and the other set for when the user is logged in.

I change the approach leaving one header and one footer and place a condition to display buttons and text depending on when the user is logged in or when is logged out.
