Antimalware Service Executable

HI,
I appreciate that the subject is not specifically NT related but....

Im running Amazon Micro EC2 Servers for clients online hosting.
and by default  Microsoft defender and antimalware Service Executable (ASExe ) are running

Task manager shows  the memory usage at 81% and 96.8 MB  for the antimalware exe
Research reports that the ASExe has a known memory leak and as a result, periodically, I need to reboot the servers to recover memory.
While I can disable defender I cannot either delete or disable ASExe
Ive tried to "end task" from Task Manager but that command is denied.

Is there an easy simple way to rid myself of this problem?

Aside, its refreshing to realise that the Leakage often reported here and assumed to be the result of NT apps may in  fact be caused by the default windows settings.

HI Richard,
What I have found on my Windows 11 PRO machine, when my machine gets "bogged down" I open Task Manager and immediately the background tasks settle down.  So, now I keep Task Manager open all the time in a small window and that has kept the background tasks at bay.  Secondly, I am not sure if you can get the PID (process ID) for antimalware service - you might be able to lower its priority setting.

Hi Richard,

Run RegEdit  and Edit

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SecurityHealthService

Set Start to 3

My EC2s are on Windows Server 2019 Data Centre, so maybe it varies from version to version. That should disable it altogether.

Start was already set as '3' hexadecimal
but its still running in Task Manager
Server is "Windows Server 2016 64bits"
