NT 11 burger button
« on: May 07, 2019, 04:40:53 PM »
Hi, Bruce

I just finished crossing from Clarion 10/NT 10 to Clarion 11/NT 11.  There remain a couple of issues that I have worked around, but would like to get a more lasting solution.

Thank you for the burger button implementation.  Using the Seven theme, it works, but the Seven menu no longer wraps in large screen mode  When the screen is too wide to trigger the burger,  but not wide enough to display the whole menu the user has to scroll to get to the last few menu headings. If the user knows they are there at all. I looked but couldn't tell which property in the theme or styles controlled the menu wrap.

I also found that any controls I created appear on top of the menu display if tnew burger button is triggered.  For example, on one large form I placed Save and Cancel buttons at both the top and bottom of the form. These buttons show on top of the menu when the burger button is triggered.

Eventually, I just replaced the NT 11 Seven theme with the one from NT 10, set the new burger button to display:none and used my old burger script.  Works fine, but it will be long term maintenance nuisance and bug risk.

I replicated the problems in web2.app (Basic with menu) using the Base theme. The zip has the dictionary but it wasn't changed beyond the conversion to NT 11   To see the overlay problem, narrow the browser window until the burger menu appears, select Browse>Mailboxes, then click the burger button again.

Thanks.

Bruce
