OT: Windows 10 slows down my NT apps (from internet)
« on: March 09, 2016, 03:42:37 AM »
Hallo,

I don't think this is related to NetTalk in any way :-)

I have a server with windows 10 and as I remember after I upgrade to 10 (from 8.1) it is much much slower in responding from internet....
On this server I have 4 NetTalk web server apps. All are slow now.

Many times give Connection timed out. The login page takes good seconds....30 or 40 sec. Before was fast 1-2 sec.
If I navigate in application sometimes display connection time out... Locally no problem. Just from Internet.
Internet is fast 100 Mbps guaranteed. (no problem here)

Have no idea what, where to check.

What could cause this slow down?

1.I disable antivirus.... no way.
2.Close firewall.....no way.

I would like to reinstall the Windows but before I want to try all possibilities.

Thank you for any advice!

Regards,
Robert

Hi Robert,

Just to let you know.

I am running my servers on Windows 10 and no problems.
I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 without any problems.
If any thing I think Windows 10 is faster.

I think it could be something on the system.
I know this is not much help

Cheers

Hi Robert.

Just had a re think

One thing I did on my Windows 10 Server

Under Services

I disabled -  World Wide Publishing Service

Not sure why but I think it was using port 80
Maybe this will help

Cheers

Hi Robert,

I had something similar running Clarion with TPS files on W8.1 Pro. It was very slow access to files. I had at that time a Virtual Machine with XP that ran Clarion apps faster than W8.1.

After some googling I found that if you set manually Virtual Memory Management in Advanced settings to a fix value this happens. When changed to let Windows manage the size of paging file for each disk, Clarion applications ran normally.

Cheers
