C++ redistributables needed for deployment?
« on: May 05, 2015, 04:29:38 PM »
Hi, Bruce

Are the C++ redistributalbes needed to run a regular NetTalk app?  If so, which one?

Thanks.

>> regular NetTalk app?

I guess that depends on your definition of Regular <g>.

They are needed only for apps that make use of SSL, either an SSL Server, or SSL Client, or SSL in FT or SSL in Email (you get the idea.)

There is a link in the doc here;
http://www.capesoft.com/docs/NetTalk8/NetTalkWebSecure.htm#DeployingSecureWebServer

The link to the C++ redistributable is;
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29

Cheers
Bruce

OK.  Thanks.

Should that be the 2008 Redisributables package as per the link or one of the more recent ones?

Hi Casey,

If there is a more recent build then I'm sure it's ok to use that.
