Backup9.exe is a small and fast tool that has saved my life many times... and it's free...
I get backup9 to take a backup every time I compile. Only takes a few seconds. Read more here: http://www.gammadyne.com/cmdline.htm#backup9

Hi Niels

Thanks for sharing this.  I now have a batch file that creates up to 999 versions of critical files.  It works well and has simplified my backup process.
