Which "Open Link As" option is best for mobile?
« on: July 26, 2013, 05:49:18 PM »
Maybe this has been covered before and I missed it.  Which one of these settings is preferred for mobile?

Open Link As:   Link; Content;  Popup

Seems that popup doesn't work in mobile anyway, correct? In that case, should it be link or content?

I'm having some problems where the user clicks on a menu item for a browse and the screen just hangs with the loading icon.  As usual, it works fine in desktop browser.

Thanks.

Hi Jim,

At the moment it doesn't matter what you set - mobile mode is effectively always in "link" mode. Mobile is currently a different framework to Desktop - something I am considering changing - and so has it's own (and different) code in some places.

In mobile mode the "mobile type" menu is used in place of the other menu types, and the mode is "link" (although internally is handled differently).

others are reporting a problem elsewhere with this as well - I'm looking into it.

Cheers
Bruce

Thanks Bruce.  Just learned about the "Open Link As" from watching the webinar last night.  Nice job!
