search fields to get focus on opening a browse
« on: July 04, 2013, 08:07:49 PM »
Hi Bruce.
This is a request for a feature that used to be in browses but has since disappeared.
I still have an application written in NT5 and this was still working in NT6 where when I selected a browse from the menu and the browse was more than 10 records and a field was set as the default sort field then the locator field had focus and I could immediately enter a search.
Currently on NT7 it doesn't do this any more.  I have to click in the locator field before entering the search string.
A small thing but if its not possible in the normal template maybe there is some code I can enter to get this back?

if I understand you correctly, what I think you're saying is;

when a column is selected in the browse, the locator field does not get immediate focus?

have I understood it correctly?

cheers
Bruce

Well, if you are really going to simplify it.  Yes. :)
Previously when you came into a browse if there was a default field selected you has immediate focus. If you changed the sort field whilst in the browse you didn't but that would be nice too.
