Memo field on a memory form

On a memory form I have a local variable loc:message which is supposed to be a text entry field for an email. However, when you enter new paragraphs the line feed is not produced so the message is one continuous piece of text.

This would not happen if the field was a MEMO filed. However a local variable cannot be set to a MEMO field and the field property on the form cannot either, both having to be string(1000).

I must be missing something obvious. How can I add a text field that will allow me to add multiple new lines/paragraphs?
