Key icon to set access for controls missing
« on: January 19, 2012, 09:22:13 PM »
Bruce,

I'm setting runtime access control for various items on a browse.  The small key icon does not appear in the last column on the browse so that I can set these at runtime.  Is this key icon supposed to be added automatically or do i need to somehow add it?  I do see it on my forms.  I'm using NT6.14.

thanks,

Jeff

it will be added automatically, but only if the requirements are met.
As I recall the requirements are;
a) logged in as a supervisor (which you probably are if you can see the lock icon on the form) and
b) the browse has the "Runtime Access Controlled by Secwin" option set.

cheers
Bruce

Bruce,

Both those criteria are met, but still no key icon.  It is present in Geoff's SecWin webinar so I tried the web51 demo as well.  Not visible there either.  The only difference I see is the theme I'm using.  I'll experiment a bit.

Bruce,

     I have experimented with many things, to see if I could get the key icon to appear on my two browses.  I tried expanding the width of the brows, different styles and themes.  Tried creating access groups at various places, etc.  Still no key icon to set access at runtime on any of the browses.  Were you able to come up with anything?  Might Geoff have an idea?
I have the app looking like I need, now just need to set access and I'm ready to deploy.
I have NT6.16, and Secwin6.04.  C8.0.8778 app.

Thanks,

Jeff
