Is my IP addresses screwed up?
« on: January 02, 2012, 03:03:49 AM »
I have absolutely no idea what is going on.

I used to put in 192.168.2.4 to run my app. I changed my app today but every time I type this in now I am getting on old version of my app. Whatever changes I make to the app I still get this old app. It takes some time to load it as though it is searching for it elsewhere.Bbefore it was instantaneous.

There is no copy running in Task Manager and it is not running as a service. I have rebooted. I have even disabled the live app just in case which seems stupid anyway. But a measure of my desperation.

This morning I opened my browser (same happens in all browsers) and typed in the ip address and the old applicaiton started. I had not started Clarion let alone the server exe.

Can anyone give me any cluses as to where this old version being picked up from before I go totally off my head?

Because now, despite a reboot etc. I can type in that ip address into my browse and the old app starts!!

I can even access this on any of our networked machines.

Thanks

John

When you look at processes in the Task Manager, did you check to show all users?  The web server has to be running on there somewhere.

Only one user Don.

Also I just did this ....

Made some changes to my app to run on another port. Also added some stuff into my login screen. Run the app and look at the server window. I note that the changes I made are not being shown!

Login and NO error checking happening. So I can type in any user name and any pasowrd or leave them blank and it shows the menu window. But the server is showing no connection.

Yet it brings up an old version but when I click on View Contact for example it fails (as it should!).

So am totally confused.

FOUND IT!!!

Some time ago I must have created a test app based on this one called Tester. My service is called Ambrit. I never checked beyond Ambrit in the list seriously but found the service Tester running which launches the exe.

I deleted the servcie "sc delete" and things seems to have returned to normal!!!!

Phew, only a whole morning wasted but what the heck <g>

Thanks

John
