Restarting NT Web Server on GPF?
« on: December 11, 2011, 10:46:17 PM »
Hi all,

We have one particular NT5 site that is tending to GPF once every couple of days, generally under heavy use.

We are investigating and trying to find the root cause of the problem, but until we do - does anyone know of a method whereby we can restart the EXE file after a GPF?  If I can remote restart the app, or have it auto restart on outage, that would be really handy.

Related to this - can anyone recommend me a service that they use to 'watch' if a web server is alive?  We used to use a service years ago which monitored our web site and sent us an email/sms when it went offline.  We haven't used it for over 6 years now and I cannot remember the name of the service now.  If there are any more modern monitoring options out there I would love to hear of them.

Cheers,
Devan

There is a program I think it comes with self service called connection checker.

I have this running on my websites to do exactly what you asked for.

Adding GPF Reporter to the app allows it to restart on GPF.
