Entry with another language (Afrikaans)
« on: July 11, 2010, 08:53:14 PM »
Windows7 Clarion6.3 9056 NT5 PR25 Topscan database
If I copy and paste some text in Afrikaans the copy into the text box appears correct. On save however the special characters in the language i.e. ^  and umlaut over certain characters get translated to other characters.
What must I do to get these characters saved correctly and to display correctly in a browse?
All help and tips appreciated

start by reading this thread;

if you're specifically wanting to edit the data via topscan then you'll have to use the non-utf form of the data to store the data. In which case I guess I'll need to know your preferred charset, and list of afrikaans characters so I can add the best support for that.

cheers
