busy gif problem
« on: June 24, 2010, 04:50:12 PM »
Hi,
My clients does not realized when the browse is been refreshed.
I´ve changed the busy.gif css.
The browse is file loaded
You can see the new position in the image attached
What you see is a memory form with some filter fields and a browse
The thing is, for example, that when the user clicks in the "Operadas Hoy" check the busy.gif does not appears at all OR (what is more weird) appears only for a half second and disppears, then it thinks, and thinks, and then the browse appears reseted
If you want to check it yourself enter
http://portit.sytes.net/LoginForm
Login with demo/demo and "Ingresar"
Try to check and uncheck the "Operadas Hoy" check and you will never see the busy.gif
How can I solve it?
Its very dificult to explain it to the user.
Thanks
Alberto

Hi,
May be the problem is when you include a browse on a memory form to allow the user to filter it.
May be complex and slow filters and the user needs to know the browse is working and is not hanged.
I´ve modified web1.app example to show it.
If you, in the IndexPage call the uMailboxesBrowseControl that is a memory form including the MailboxesBrowseControl browse and click on the check "reset" which filters the browse by number<20, the busy.gif does not appears, it only appears if you press the browse navigation buttons.
Any way to solve this?
Any chance to add at least a fixed message like "Please wait, I´mworking" while the browse is reseted?
Thanks
Alberto

PD attached web1.app and dct

uMailboxesBrowseControl isn't in that zip Alberto.

But to answer your question, no, the busy gif does not currently appear when fields on a form are updated.
(And in this case that's what's happening.)

It's something I'll look into, but it's not trivial.

cheers
Bruce

Sory about this, Bruce.
In complex filters the user thinks the server is hang.
Why not do something like the PopUpLookup? some opacy image that unhides over while the browse is reseted?
Hope you have time to solve it!
Many Thanks
Alberto
