Error -29 redeaux
« on: June 04, 2009, 08:55:57 AM »
Using netsimple, we have some customers (small percentage) that get a NetTalk error -29 frequently. When we monitor these customers we see the normal behavior of a port being assigned and used, but never released.  When I monitor this at my office we see the port being assigned and used and after a brief delay it is released.  The customer will eventually run out of ports and get the error -29.

There must be some registry setting or unapplied hotfix that accounts for the difference.  The customers that have the problem are using XP professional.  I have tested extensively on XP and Vista and cannot duplicate the problem.

Anyone else experienced this or have any ideas?

Thanks,
Tony

Tony, have you tried turning on the extended logging and using SysInternals to analyze the results (per the instructions in the docs)? What port is it running on?
