Labels on slider control

Is there any way to put number labels on a slider? For example, I have a rating field with a range of 1 to 5 (1=poor, 5=excellent). With only the slider control displayed and no numbers, its functionality is not very clear. I've added a Display field above with text numbers (ie 1 ---- 2 ---- 3, etc) and tried to space out them out to match the slider points, but it's very cumbersome.
