Read-only Lookup field - bug?
« on: December 07, 2014, 12:35:15 AM »
Hi

I have a Lookup field which returns a Name and it can remain blank i.e. Lookup wasn't invoked or wasn't successful but I didn't want users trying to enter a value.  So I made it Read-only but the '?' Lookup button wasn't generated.

Is this a bug?

Read-Only means the field cannot be changed. Hence no lookup button. So turn that option off.

If you want the user to only use the lookup, not type, then turn on the option "Force user to use lookup".

cheers
