Drop-down is resetting its value when editing a record

I have a string field that has no validation in the dictionary.

I've defined it as a Drop field in my form with all the options (about in the extra possibilities, and there is no correlation to another file or anything, just a straight string and possibilities defined in the template.

When I select one from the list, then save the record, it is saved correctly. When I open the record back up, it defaults to the first one again. This doesn't look normal to me.

Update: it is solved by making the string field also a hot field. Is this normal?

Hi Mike,

All the "hot field" does is add it to the View.
I'd need to see your exact setup to comment specifically, but presumably yes, the field was not being added to the view?
