PDF report not display in web browser
« on: April 30, 2013, 02:46:22 AM »
Hi Bruce

I do have some reports that is working fine with PDF-XChange Tools Report Template 4.1. using CL8 and NT7.07 and Trackersoft PDF tools. I am in the process to use the same reports in a web application, I added the “ Nettalk Extension to Produce with PDF-XcCange Generator 4.1” template to the report procedure. I also add the prototype ‘(<NetWebServerWorker p_web>)’ to the report.

When I run the report, it generate the temp pdf file the same as the windows version, but the PDF does not display in the Web Browser as a PDF document. I am using Google Chrome web Browser.

I call the procedure from a Start button and a progress bar indicator.

I would appreciate if you can give me some indication to investigate to resolve the problem.

Kind regards
Johan

Hi Bruce,
The progress screen with a progress bar appears with the e.g. $$$34678.pdf. After that nothing else. I cannot find the file anywhere.
Tanks

hi Johan,

it might be a good idea to check out the example (example 13 I think) for how a progress bar should work.

when you click on Start the progress bar appears and moves from 1% to 100%.
When it gets to 100% the progress bar should disappear, and a message like "click here to see the report" should appear.

If you click on that link then the report opens, usually in another tab.

How is this process different to what you are seeing?

cheers
Bruce
