How many Menu levels available in doubledrop menu type
« on: April 13, 2013, 12:40:22 AM »
NT707
I have created a menu with 3 levels ( see 1.jpg) File Imports is Level2 (2.jpg) and Standard Folders All Cabinets is Level3 (3.jpg) On 1.jpg the indenting is correct. When I run the application instead of Standard Folder all cabinets appearing as a sub menu of File Imports it appears as if it is a Level2 folder(4.jpg) (Chrome Browser).

Is this a bug or an expected result?

I can modify this if this is incorrect but I am trying to duplicate an existing Clarion program Menu structure as closely as possible.

I think maybe you've just done it wrong. If I'm reading it correctly, then  File Imports should be level 1 (since you want it to appear in the menu) and the others should be level 2 (as they fall under File Imports.)

cheers

Hi Bruce
No I wanted File Imports to be a submenu of Maintenance Utilities and Standard Folders all Cabinets to be a sub menu of File Imports. So I set Maintenance utilities as level1 fileimports as level2 and standard folders as level3
If you look at the attached image the layout is correct, it just doesn't show the same way when viewed the compiled app with a browser.

Please see the attached. The 3 menu choices Standard Folders all cabinets, Standard Folders One Cabinet and Single Folder All cabinets are set as level3 whilst File Imports is set as level2.
If I highlight File Imports the sub menus show to the right, but they also display below the File Imports menu choice.

Hi Terry,

I've found at least 1 bug in the menu generation, but at least now for me it seems to be working ok. Try with the 7.08 build when it's out and please let me know if you're still having an issue.

Incidentally there's no physical limit on the number of levels (at least for the double-drop menu) although there are obviously practical limits based on screen size etc.

cheers
Bruce

Many Thanks Bruce
I don't really want to go more than level 3 so that is fine.
