Issue with NT mobile sites and Blackberry
« on: August 21, 2012, 05:56:48 PM »
People still use Blackberry's??  Well, apparently some of our client's customers do... They have reported that when BB users try and edit a form on their site, the form fields come up black, with black writing, thus effectively making things invisible.

Aside from telling them to tell their customers to upgrade to a REAL phone, what is the alternative?  I haven't got a BB in house to test this with...

Sorry - I've just heard back from the client that it is a Blackberry 9700.  Not sure of the OS on that.

I've done a bit of research and this is indeed a bug in jQuery Mobile 1.1.1
https://github.com/jquery/jquery-mobile/issues/4828

The fix has apparently been created, but has not yet been accepted by the project. Ideally I'd really like it to be accepted before I roll it into the NetTalk shipping js files.

How "serious" is this issue for them? I mean "needs to be fixed today" serious, or "can wait a week and see" serious?

No, I can hold them off.  I think my client only has a couple of users with BB's.  Most of their customers use iPhone/Android which work fine.  I'll tell them to wait a couple of weeks. :)
