record not found (5)
« on: November 20, 2012, 01:55:23 AM »
Hi,

After I changed a (tps) file in the dct AND increased the version number (to trigger FM3) I suddenly get the message mentioned above.
I added a new fuield which is a non-unique foreign key (aka duplicate when you yuse quickload when creating a new file).
The error however concerns the unique primary key of the file which was not affected by the file change  at all.
As far as I can see in the TPS-viewer, all records still have their unique key.

Has anyone encountered a similar situation ?

Kind regards,
Rene Simons

_where_ do you get the record not found? On a browse, form, or somewhere else?

is it like an ABC popup message window?

cheers
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for your reply.
I have a parent and child browse. The relations work fine.
I click on the change button in the child browse line I want to change (I have a change button on each line).
The message appears like shown  in the attachment. The message appears in the browser so it is not a windows message..
When I click OK the update form is shown in Update mode. Empty.

Cheers,
Rene

P.s.
When I add a new record using the insert button for the browse, The new record is added without any difficulty.
Editing the new record also gives no problems.
When I try to edit one of the older records however, I get the "record not found (5) " error. but the form shows the record which was added the last time.

Hallo Rene,

Did you change the primary key in DCT? or did you change the primary field from long to string or reverse?
Try open the TPS and see what is there. How it look the new record compared with old one.
or post here the tps file.

Good luck,
Robert

Hi Robert,

Thanks for you rinterest.
I did not change the primary key in the dct nor did I change the primary field.
The "old"records act as if they are filtered out like (exclude empty keys).
The new record acts "normal".

I send the tps (zip) along.

Cheers,
Rene

Hallo Rene,

Please try with tps I attached.
I think FM3 didn't rebuild your key after upgrade...

Try now with attached tps or rebuild all key on your tps and see if it's work.

Regards,
Robert

Hi Rene,

which build of NetTalk are you on. if you're on 6.50 then grab 6.51. There was a bug which may present in this sort of way.

cheers
Bruce

Hi Bruce,
I already am on NT 6.51. I was on FM3 5.01 which I upgraded to 5.05 now. See what it does.
I am going to try the file rRobert say he has fixed. There will be no harm in that
Is there a way to use the runtime file manager in the server side of NTWS?
Or is that a really stupid question. Mind you I'm not asking to use it over the web but on the Windows Nettalk Webserver Window.

Cheers,
Rene

Hi Robert,

I used your file and the problem was fixed.
I am now trying to get the Runtime File manager incorporated in the WebServer Window.

Thanks for your time.
