Capturing and storing an image captured by webcam
« on: March 05, 2012, 11:43:04 PM »
I would like to use the webcam on a computer to capture and then store an image within the webserver.
Is there any code, or advice on how to do this?
My preferred system would be:-
Have a form open
click on a button on the form to activate the webcam and then store the image is a location with a link in the form to the image.
Is this possible?

You can probably imagine why browsers don't offer this sort of behavior natively.

As far as I know the only way to do this is using Flash - which then prompts the user if it's ok to use the camera and so on.

Cheers
