Serious speed issue using Andorid (simulated)
« on: February 12, 2012, 10:38:47 AM »
The Samsung Galaxy is a tablet running Android. When starting an app it believes this to be mobile mode so switches to mobile mode (the black screens).

This is unacceptable so I advised the client to force it into desktop mode using ?mobile=0

This worked but slowed the system down hugely. A typical response time to select a Lookup item and add it to the record was 15 seconds.

Having worked with the client we have found that it is this switch that is causing the problems as if he runs in the mode Android assumes (mobile=1) then the same app runs perfectly.

So this appears to be a major bug I think or is there some way round this? Indeed can anyone confirm this?

Attached is the User Agent provided.

Many thanks

John

Try playing with combinations of the compressed / combined settings.
Also see performance -after- the first request to see if it gets faster for subsequent requests.
