Error in Site Java Script on Server not local machine
« on: November 27, 2011, 09:38:32 AM »
My server runs fine when on my local machine.  I copied the folder to my server and now I get the Error in Site Java Script on the login page.

The compress/compile switches are off.

NT 6.05
Secwin 6.02.

Did I miss a file?

This is the error :
f.elements is undefined
http://192.168.0.130/scripts/netweb.js
Line 655

Additional notes .

Firefox works when the server app is run from my local machine.  Does not work from when the server app is run from my Win 2003R2 Server

IE8 works from both but does not show any icons.

From my android phone the app works from the server and does show icons.

Go to your WebServer procedure and open the NetTalk extension.

Go to the buttons tab and delete all of the "standard buttons".  Don't worry, they will re-appear as fast as you delete them.  This seems to "reset" the buttons.

See if that helps.

cheers

Yes.  I copied the entire development folder to the server.

try pressing Ctrl-F5 in your browser maybe?

I'm presuming the site isn't online where I can get to it from here?

cheers

Ditto. Exactly the same. Works perfectly on local machine. Error in Java Script on server. CTRL-F5 has no effect.

No errors on local machine at all. Entire web folder copied.

If it helps my top menu is Home | Browse | Login - Home and Login work. It seems related to the Browse menu item.

HTH

Update Bruce ...

Recompiled and recopied all files to server. NOT running as a service. Exactly the same problem and still works perfectly without errors or warinngs on local machine.

Turned OFF IIS and still no luck. Running on Port 88.

So rather baffled now.

If you're testing in IE, check to see if it's defaulted to "compatibility mode".
A user has reported that it does for "Lan addresses" - which makes it "not work". Setting it back into normal mode gets it working.

Well I am darned Bruce. It is working now.

On the server I am using Port 88 with IIS stopped for now.

Cannot add a record and menu looks completely different to the desktop application. So although it is not reporting an error now I suspect there is one.

Oh - just got my redirection URL progated. This is weird - no it's me not understanding ....

If on my SERVER I run my app through IE direct I cannot add a record and menu is not working fully. But now my URL has been propogated if I try that all is OK. Why??

Will leave it running for rest of day at http://www.ambritsoftware-uk.com:88

BTW If I run it from my phone Insert Contact does not work which is exactly the same that happens when run direct on the SERVER. But http://www.ambritsoftware-uk.com:88 from my LOCAL machine works perfectly.

Thanks

John

Alas it's not running now, so I can't try it.

IE7? really?

Cheers
