Size of XHTML text field...
« on: April 04, 2011, 05:38:44 AM »
Using Nettalk 4.53, I bumped on size of XHTML text field (inserting and changing). For example: NetWebPage settings, XTML tab, I declare some routine, the number of lines in text field is about 160 lines, maximum.  Is it possible to increase numbers of lines in this template? Is this size, number of lines greater in Nettalk 5?

It's a limit of the template engine, so there's no difference between NT4 and NT5.

You can of course add multiple entries to the list, or just hand-code the string you are adding.

OK, lets say that if I declare two routine, Routine1 and Routine2, one after another, split codes in these two routines, and all will work as in one great routine?

Yep, its alive (NT5) and weight $599,  :(
But, we are almost to buy it because of NT4 major obstacle - no multicomponent key(s) support !!!!!

it's only $299 for the upgrade.
Of course that's "per user" so it adds up if there are more than 1 of you.

I _think_ NT5 is "mostly" multi-component key supported now. I haven't tested that in a while but there were a bunch of changes to make that possible. I'll put testing it on my list at some point.

Ok, Is NT5 can use multi-component keys ( I have some with 5 components) or not?
If I buy NT5 and again got stuck with record not found (5): error 0-thing, which is due to this issue with keys, what else?
And again, NT is some great stuff for developing...

Hi Oggy,

I'm not sure if it supports multi-component keys completely. I think the biggest issue still revolves around lookups - normal browses and forms are ok (I _think_). I've added an item to my list though to check this.

Certainly the goal is to make it support MC keys. If you tried it, and had a problem, then a report on where, and what, problem would go a long way to closing any holes.

There are a couple places where the number of components is 5 - so it'd support at least 5 components. In the long run I hope to remove any limit on the number of components though.

cheers

Ok, thanks for information, I will soon decide (day or two) about NT5 purchasing... I must say, again, that  using multi-component keys is must-have feature in product, so if you lets say, expand, number of components in used keys, it will be extraordinary...
