Browse with Filter and Lookup Locator
« on: November 15, 2009, 01:01:40 AM »
Hi,

I have a browse within a form. On this form I have a dropdown box which sets the filter for the browse. When I enable the lookup locator and try to search something it does not work. Nothing happens. When I open the browse directly (not within the form and still having the filter) the search locator works fine. What can this be? How to solve it?

I had a similar problem recently and it turned out to be an invalid filter that was causing the locator to stop working. Having a browse within a form has nothing to do with your problem.

Kevin,

Your wrong. I did NOT turn of the filter. Called the browse directly without using the form and the problem was gone.

So is seems as if the form caused the problem.

Any ideas?

Well it is something specific you are doing as I embed all my browses in forms without a problem (except when I screwed up the filter which had nothing to do with a browse in a form!).

But if you want to be rude when people are trying to help you or give you hints don't expect to get too many responses!

Hi Sjoerd,

Can you create an example we can look at that duplicates the effect?
As with most programming it's difficult to diagnose without some idea of what the code looks like.
There are a number of things that it _could_ be, so it's hard to say for sure what it is in your case, without an example.

cheers
