Disconnected NetTalk apps - change of a file structure
« on: December 14, 2016, 07:06:54 AM »
I've searched the newsgroups and NetTalk central and the documentation but I must be using the wrong keywords.    :-\

If I make a change to a file structure on the server data, how does NetTalk9 upgrade the local file structure?

Or do I have to do this "by hand" using FM3 on the desktop data?

And, is there an easy way to copy the new desktop program to all my remote users in the same way as AutoNet used to do?

Hi Dermot,

I assume we're talking about disconnected desktop here?

it doesn't.

The server changes the file structure of it's data using whatever method you use for file structure change s(like, for example, FM3.)

On the Desktop, your desktop program does the same with it's data.
The two sides can co-exists with different structures, I'd recommend upgrading the server first then updating the clients.
