Windows 10 and Nettalk Exe Shutdown
« on: January 15, 2016, 04:13:42 PM »
Hi,

Just upgraded to Windows 10
Clarion 10, Nettalk 8.71

Now when I forget to close the Nettalk Server I don't get prompted to close it.
Any idea what setting I need to do if any?

Brian.

Usually one _doesn't_ want to be prompted to close the server.
WinEvent does that for you, so if you have WinEvent in the app then you won't be prompted (regardless of the Windows version I would have said.)

If you want the program to close cleanly when windows closes then add WinEvent.

If you _don't_ want to allow Windows to close - alas I don't have any experience with that.

cheers

Sorry for badly written post.

Steps I want to describe :)

1. Developing Nettalk app
2. Launch and test app on my local PC
3. Return to development and then re-launch app while first one is still running
4. Used to prompt me to close the existing app before launching the one I wan, now just tells me another instance is running.

Hope that is clear.

On my machine it doesn't prompt anymore, it just automatically closes the exe. (which I like.)
As far as I know it's an IDE setting;
Tools / Options / IDE / Projects and Solutions / Kill running process before build.

Cheers
