Nettalk WebServer issue with Safari Browser
« on: November 30, 2015, 11:15:13 AM »
I’m on NetTalk 8.66 (with other related templates updated to the latest versions as of today (11/30/15)) and having problems with a Webserver app when serving pages in mobile mode.  Desktop Mode works fine, on PCs and IOS Tablets.  On an IOS phone with an older version of the IOS (5.1.1) the web pages work as expected in Safari.  On a newer IOS version (8.1.3) in mobile mode, the webserver pages don’t work correctly.   The main issues appear to be related to the locator not working, column selection doesn’t work along with none of buttons respond.  The menu does work and the browser does provide the first page of data but nothing works beyond that.

The database files are MS SQL and the webserver is based on the wizard and modified only by what fields are displayed.  Other than that it’s all generated code.

Thanks,

Hi Kurt,

I don't have much to suggest at this point - obviously this week is already very full so I won't be able to dive into NT8 before next week sometime.

In the meantime it's probably worth taking one of the example apps, and duplicating the effect there, because chances are I'm going to ask for an example if I can't easily duplicate it here.

cheers
Bruce

I experience the same thing with my WebServer. It works fine with a browser from the PC and the Mac, but in Safari on Ipad and Iphone  hte user can't  log in on the login-form nothing happens when the press the 'save' button.

FYI, in iOS9 in safari tapping the 2 square Icon opens a menu, that allows you to tap the private icon.
It will remember that forever until you change it ! (persists thru rebooting/upgrading)
You can tell you are in private more if the top address/search bar is dark gray.
Its not obvious unless you *know* this. (Apparently i have been in Private mode for a while ...)

For me.with Private on,  if i browse to a Nettalk site, my  ajax /send to server stuff does not work.
So my loginform just sits there dumb like,
But, if you toggle out of private mode and access the page it will work!.

i thought Private was about browser history,
but it seem to have additional side effects on my NT sites.
I believe it is blocking some of the cookie tracking.
