Wizard - Resize/Grow as needed
« on: October 14, 2015, 01:19:55 PM »
Hi Bruce,

At the moment (Accounts example attached, add an Invoice, then add Line Items to see the issue) the Wizard doesn't grow with any growth of information in the tabs (ie a child browse with records added to it).

Any chance this could get sorted out in NT8?

I don't think it can grow dynamically at this point (maybe in the future) but you can specify a height on the "Layout" tab to give it enough room for the browse.

Hi Bruce, yup the height field is there.

Unfortunately that doesn't solve the issue .. That in a wizard a user might add ten records to the child browse. In this case, the browse extends down below the "Previous/Next/Cancel" buttons (the bottom of the form). It's not a great look for the interface.

So it's a no go?

I'd have to dive into the JavaScript to see if there's a way to increase the hight there - but unfortunately I can't do that at the moment.

so, um, make the wizard "taller" by setting the height higher ?

So for 9 out of 10 records I have a great amount of blank space at the bottom of the wizard?

Crazy-talk Bruce!

Interface-wise, growing as needed is the only way forward.

If 1 record out of 10 has a really tall wizard, because it's got a lot of records, okay. In some cases it would be taller than most resolutions on regular monitoes (1024 height).

But if EVERY record had a really tall wizard, and most of that was empty space .. How is that good?

Am happy to wait - but forcing the height isn't the solution, at least for me. Sorry.

I agree, forcing the height is not ideal.
