Example 14 - Print with PDFTools
« on: August 22, 2014, 12:24:32 AM »
Looking at this example it seems to be the same as the PDF with EE example (web13). There are not PDFtools extensions
Am I correct?

Hi Terry

I also picked up something strange with the PDF-Tools examples,
and it creates web14.exe.

I recently went through the process of doing this with PDF-Tools, so perhaps I can help.

What are you struggling with?

The help files are quite good for this process.

Thanks Johan
I decided over the weekend to start converting my web pdf files from the standard report to PDF  files to using PDFTools. I have already used PDF tools in my normal apps but I thought I would look at the example to see if there was anything special I need to do in the web side. But looking at the web14 example I don't see any references at all to pdftools, it looks exactly the same as if I was creating via Report to PDF from Softvelocity.
When I get back onto it I will definitely ask for your advice.

Can confirm that the Example 14 has no PDF Tools extension stuff, is the sv pdf exporter.

Hi Guys,
I am looking for a replacement for the Softvelocity PDF report. Report PDF with images built by SV are huge. Any recommendations?

Hi Rob,

Am using PDFTools (Tracker Software). Is powerful, robust and even though I can test the limits (ha), it's great.

That being said, the image quality will affect the pdf size in my experience.

Plus it has a bunch of stuff like pdf encryptation which I am finding very useful when sending invoices to clients (of customers)
