When you call a browse for lookup update buttons are hide.
When you call the same browse for lookup as popup, it does not hide the update buttons.
It simple to reproduce with ex 3 (attached)

by design. (And has been the case for ever).

In Page mode it's not possible to go from a lookup to the update form, in Popup mode it is.

You can set conditions for the buttons if you want to suppress update mode from the lookup.

Ok, how do I set this condition?
I've tride loc:popup and it does not work

try setting the condition for the Insert button (etc) to
loc:Selecting = 0
