Form - child browse - child form and validation
« on: April 04, 2008, 03:44:40 PM »
Hi,

I have a form with a child browse on a separate tab with add and delete buttons calling another form.  The parent form validates to make sure there is at least one entry in the child browse.  Works fine if the browse entry is added before saving the parent form.   If the user forgets to add the entry, validation catches the problem and directs the user to add at least one entry to the child browse.  So far, so good.  But when the user saves the child form to create the browse entry,  the parent form 'disappears' altogether with nothing saved.   Both the parent and child record are memory files that would normally be transfered to physcial files after further processing,  but the program doesn't get that far when this problem occurs.

I assume there is a session value that the program is triggering somewhere in the validation process.   Any suggestions for which value it likely is and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Bruce
