From your other thread;

>>    I have made some success by moving to a new virtual Win server 2008.  Here I  have one IP and do not bind to it.  Using port 443 with a self-signed wildcard certificate.  I have added two apps to the host.  One is Mint, which has SecWin included.  Another is Risk, which does not have SecWin included.  These two co-exist just fine.  Please see the image host.png.

cool.

>>     As soon as I add a third app called Xoft, which has SecWin included, the host crashes.

yes, I think you're aware that multi-secwin apps on the same host are currently a problem? Perhaps it was someone else who noted this. It's something we're looking into.

>> I have included an image (hostcrash.png) of the GPFReport file that is generated with regards to the XoftIORT.dll file associated with the Xoft app.  It indicates that the CLAWE.dll (WinEvent) file is for C7.3.  Is this the cause of all this?

Not necessarily - the DLL's are a lot more cross-version compatible since the name change. However to be sure feel free to update WinEvent to the latest build.

>>     In addition, before I add the Xoft app which causes a crash, I have also noticed another problem.  When I added the first app with Insert, I found I had to restart the host app.  The browser displays "...Waiting for response from xx.xx.xx.xx, my host server IP address.  Once I restart the Host.exe app, I then use Copy of the first app to help add the second app.  I get the same symptom and must again restart the host.exe.

Interesting. I've not seen that before.

Cheers
Bruce

Bruce,

I did download the most recent version of WinEvent for C8, it installs has this edition of the ClaWe.dll.

It was me who noted multiple Secwin apps were a problem in an earlier post.  I just wanted to be sure the ClaWe.dll for 7.3 was not the issue here.  Any progress on getting multiple Secwin apps to work on the same host?  I have plans to update my one non-Secwin app if this can be resolved.

Thanks,

Jeff

Bruce,

I forgot to mention what actually happens when there are two or more Secwin apps.  Basically, the host shuts down and then there are two or more copies of host.exe in the task manager.  The extra copy of host.exe appears and disappears over and over.  The other copy cannot be ended.  I find I must restart the server machine.  Hopefully this can help as you look into this.

Thanks,

Jeff

do you have gpfreporter restarting the app on a gpf? I had this effect some time ago. Now I just use connectionchecker (selfservice example) to check my apps are running.
