Locator bug in 6.15
« on: January 19, 2012, 03:21:27 AM »
I think there is a bug in the locator when in mobile mode.

The X clears the search string but the search button itself does not work.

Or am I missing something? Works perfectly in non mobile mode.

The thing is, on my Blackberry click on search (left round symbol) and nothing happens. On an HTC Wildfire it worked first time but now we cannot clear the search string. So as the original search produced no records we have no list at all now. Login is failing to clear the search string either.

Using Chrome it looks as though the search button (left) is not actually enabled.

So it seems there is something very strange happening.

Thanks

John

Out of curiosity, if you tap on a column heading to sort the column first, and then enter a value in the locator field - does it then work? I've had a problem that may be similar (not sure) that the locator does not work for us unless you first resort the list (which may be a focus issue?). This problem only happens in Mobile mode as well.

Yes that happens the same here. Right now I am using Chrome to test in mobile mode.

Have also replicated the situation on the Wildfire. Sequence of events was:

1. Opened browse and searched for a name. Effect was nothing happened.
2. Clicked on header to sort and repeated and it worked.
3. Continued to do searches until I tried to find something containing "ad". The search failed and now, even if I logout and back in, the browse shows nothing and I cannot view any of the contacts.

So conclusion is that you have to click the header first for it to work and if you search for something that does not exist, logout and back in and view the list the original search string is shown and the list is blank. It cannot be cleared!!!!!

My experience has been my searches do work, but only after clicking on the header first to sort the column. I don't believe this was introduced in 6.15 since I've had the same situation occur in all previous versions of 6 in mobile mode. I know Bruce mentioned he was looking into it.

I don't know if this means anything, but my searches only work if the column is sort in ascending order as well. (and I haven't been able to search by date but I think that's just me)
