Brilliant.
Thanks - that could save a lot of headaches.
I'll post back how it works out.

That makes sense. Thanks.
Now I have to find out how to setup a printer for the server's account so I can tell their IT guy how to do it. <g>

Web Server - Ask For Help / PDF creation issue with service
« on: April 18, 2014, 06:11:55 AM »
I don't think this is specifically a NT issue because as they say - It works here.
I have an installation of a NetTalk server (Ver 6.51) that creates the PDF reports in landscape rather than portrait.
If I run the server from the desktop, it works perfectly. If I run it as a service, it breaks the PDFs.
Has anyone seen this? What is the PDF difference between the desktop and a service?
TIA
Chris

Impossible for me I'm afraid.
My workload and time management have gotten entirely out of control.
I will be watching the Friday webinar, though.

Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: Can the Back Button be processed
« on: June 24, 2013, 05:58:15 AM »
Pressing enter twice, reloads the page after they hit the back button is all.
The complaint is that they have to reload the page on clicking BACK
So, I can either not allow the BACK button or attempt to get it to process properly without the user doing anything.
And before you ask, yes, there is a go back button on the form to return safely to the browse. The corollary to "You can't stop users from doing anything" is that "you can't make users do anything either."
Maybe I can just make the form's back button easier to use. BIGGER, brighter, with a spinning logo and flames! <G>

Is there a way to either keep users from clicking BACK or process the button and push 2 Enter keystrokes to make the page refresh properly?
Thanks
Thanks

NetTalk is the main reason I've used Clarion for so long. So I'd like to say Thanks for coming out to Newark, NJ , Bruce. (oh man, that seems like a long time ago) The NetTalk app I wrote shortly after is still running.
Keep up the great work!

Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: Can IIS and NTS live together with port 80?
« on: May 25, 2013, 06:53:45 AM »
Thanks
I have one set up using a variable for the IP stored in the ini file. They leave it blank since there is only the one IP address. Seems to be working. I'll let you know what happens when they get a second IP address.
At the moment, we've got it redirected to the port from a page through IIS.

Web Server - Ask For Help / Re: Multiple lines on a column in a browse?
« on: May 24, 2013, 02:48:20 PM »
Devan,
Could be that the row isn't resizing. I think if you put all your html in a single field in the column it'll work, but you may have to change the row height.

So if I get the admin to set up another IP address on that machine, I could bind the app to it and then watch for port 80 there?

Before I start flailing at a solution -
Is there a way for a server to have IIS running AND host my NT Server on port 80?
if there is a separate IP address?
in a VM?
Thanks,
Chris

Web Server - Ask For Help / ssl_error_rx_record_too_long
« on: April 29, 2013, 06:54:15 AM »
On a new installation of a NTWS 6.51 server. Using SSL on the whole app, we get the following error-
==============================
Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to 66.208.242.189:50006.
SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)
==============================
Any suggestions on what can cause this? In searching for the error in the forum, I see that it is mostly seen as an issue with a single page having 2 servers. That is not the case here since the whole site is secure.
We have this running on 3 other servers as well and I'm at a loss as to what differences I might look for.
=<Edit>==
Here is the error from Chrome:
=======================
SSL connection error
Unable to make a secure connection to the server. This may be a problem with the server, or it may be requiring a client authentication certificate that you don't have.
Error 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR): SSL protocol error.
=======================
Thanks,
Chris C

Is there a way to enforce or restrict file types being uploaded? like the usual file mask - *.jpg; *.png?
Thanks,
