Title: Read only fields and tool tips

Hi

Tool tips don't seem to display on Read Only fields.  Has anyone come across this?

Tooltip on read-only String fields sees to be working fine here. Tested in FF, Chrome and IE.

Not enough info in my Post  >:(

The fields are 'Display' so as to allow them to look like Read-Only fields (via a style) but be bypassed after Tab and Enter.  The discussion on this was in:

Display fields don't have a tip as far as I know - but I'd need to see the HTML you are displaying to confirm that.
"Display fields" are just plain HTML, not input fields.

BTW the concept of a "tip" is very mouse related. And many devices are now out there that don't have mice. So tips (and right-clicks) are very limiting anyway.

Hi Bruce

The 'Tip' characteristic is active for a field of type 'Display' - see attachment.

I originally created the tips when the fields were 'String' and then changed the Type but Tip is available if you are creating a Display field.

yeah, the Field tab is constant for all the field types.
But not all settings are necessarily used for each field type.
