Has anyone had success using Nettalk as part of a bar code scanning solution for
something like a Motorola MC3000?
My understanding is the MC3000 can run WindowsCE or WindowsMobile
I was thinking if the handhelds browser, could talk to a Nettalk webserver
I might be able to cobble something together.
if it can use the builtin scanner like a keyboard wedge from the browser...

I did try something similar with a Motorola ES400, which also had a built in barcode data wedge.
The problem that I found was that the browser for Windows Mobile 5 / CE was so poor, I couldn't get my nettalk web server to work well on the device. (I was using NT6 at the time)
In the end, I wrote a native app for the device using Windev Mobile, and then I use my NetWebserver as a SOAP/Webservice to send and receive data from the device.
This works much better, but obviously requires more development work for you.

thanks Neil,
Yeah, I was hoping to avoid another development platform,
I downloaded the RhoMobile development suite and played for an hour or so,
It was interesting but would take time.
I do not understand/trust all the licensing costs and whats propriertary vs open, its much to learn for a small return,
unless i use it for other things.
Part of the problem is support for older devices with less memory I was hoping for a meeting of technology
where the older CE browser could use a simple Nettalk page. But that newer more powerful units
would be strong enuff to access more complex pages.
