Title: Tried Google Chrome yet?
Post by: Mike Grigsby on September 12, 2008, 12:25:47 PM
Holy schmolly it runs fast! Seems to work pretty well with my apps with the exception of some CSS on browses not looking right. But I'm sure that can be tweaked. http://google.com/chrome.

Hi Mike,

Yes, it certainly loads fast, and seems to run nice and fast - at least at the beginning. I've heard reports that it "slows down" after a bit.

Alas there's no FireBug for it yet so FF is still the best environment for development.

Cheers
Bruce

It seems they all run fast at first, before getting loaded down, but Chrome seemed especially fast.

It's fun to be able to run all these web browsers against our NetTalk Web apps and have them actually work!  Some colleagues ask if I use .NET anymore, and I told them I haven't had the need to.

And I only use FF for development. Made the mistake of upgrading to FF3 before Firebug was out, and had to scramble to find version 2 to revert back to until Firebug was available again.

Hi,
It seems that google registers a lot of what you do.
There is de-googled version called Iron  ;)
You can find it at http://www.srware.net/iron_3rd.html
It also runs FAST!!
I haven't tried it with NetTalk Apps though.

Yeah, I wouldn't run anything Google puts out myself. I don't care for them to know what color socks I'm wearing today... and then sell it to someone who wants me to buy a different color. It is fast though.
