Hello,
Working with NetTalk Webserver for a few weeks now and every day it surprises me how dynamic it is.
With that said I want to give me visitors the ability to use client-side sorting.
When configuring this on a browse with multiple pages, I find the server returns a normal server-side browse when clicking on page 2, 3, etc. When in this 'css-mode' I am unable to return to the sortable-css style browse I started with on page 1.
Is this something I can change or is this perhaps something that's going to be fixed in 4.31?
Kind regards,
Sjoerd vd Berg

Hi Sjoerd,
>> With that said I want to give me visitors the ability to use client-side sorting.
I don't recommend this at the moment. The client-side-sorting script has a number of unwelcome side effects.
Certainly you shouldn't use it on a page-loaded browse because it would only be able to sort what they can see. (and they'd lose the benefit of the locator).
It's probably that the client-side sorting will get a revamp (along with a lot of other JavaScript) in NetTalk 5 - but at the moment I don't have plans to re-do it for NetTalk 4. I think the server side sorting is more useful at the moment.

Bruce,
I have kicked the client-side sorting away and indeed the server-side sorting works much better. Still, there is something else thats really annoying.
When I have a browse that has serverside sorting and I click on Next to view the second page I cannot use or see any kind of sorting. Also when I click back to page 1 this functionality is gone until a complete refresh.
What can this be?

Hi Sjoerd,
Which version are you using? That really doesn't sound like standard behavior.
Can you duplicate that effect in an example?

Bruce, when will you move to NetTalk 5?

Mike,
I think that question deserves it's own thread...
