Title: barcode scanning
Post by: cwtart on October 16, 2013, 07:50:56 AM
Bruce,

A few months ago I asked you about using a mobile device's camera as a barcode scanner. I have created native Android apps that use Zebra Crossing's barcode scanner to take control of the camera and scan barcodes. This works great - and Zebra Crossing has a method to allow a browser to do this.

Have you given any more thought to this?

Chuck

Hi chuck,

No I haven't gone too far down this road. How4ever it looks like it might be something you can easily integrate yourself.
Give that a try and let us know what happens.

cheers
Bruce

I need to do this same thing Chuck.  But I have not had a chance to work on it yet.  If you would be willing to share any progress or tips that would be awesome!

I need to use it to decode actual bar codes from a mobile device, but this guy has used zxing to read QR Codes in html 5
