Please can anyone help, i have created ics files in my application that gets emailed to users to add events to there calendars but having problems with iphones, not been able to open the attachment. It is showing as an attachement but not clickable. Anybody know what the issue is?

They are not supported (yet).

Well this is embarrassing... someone just emailed me a meeting appointment (.ICS) which appeared as an attachment on my iPhone... which i could tap on, it opened it and gave me the option of adding it to my calendar... (iPhone 4S on iOS6). Just charging my iPhone 3GS which i think is still on iOS5) to try it on that!

Worked on my 3GS (on iOS5) also. Hmmm... I thought it might be the way the mine-attachment was added. So i cut out just the ICS file from the original request and sent it as a plain attachment and it also worked on both phones.
So i can only conclude that perhaps the ICS file might make the difference (The one i was looking at was generated by Exchange Server 2010).

Please is it possible for you to send me a copy of the ics file has the one I have created just wouldn't
Work on iphone
