Title: PostGreSQL - cannot start it as a Service
Post by: Johan van Zyl on March 02, 2012, 07:21:28 AM
Hi

Have just signed up with RackSpaceCloud - CloudServer.

All is well so far except that I cannot start PostGreSQL as a service. It start but the stops immediately! How do I resolve this. It is set to start automatically and yes, I have rebooted after installing PostGreSQL.

Thx!

Not yet - I cannot PostreSQL to even start on RackSpaceCloud - once that has been resolved I will have a PostGreSQL NTWS app up and running.

I have this TPS NTWS running on the same server already.

I was just wondering if any other Clarion NTWS PostGreSQL developers have come across this on RackSpaceCloud

Hi Johan

We use RackSpace extensively, but admittedably we have not run PostGreSQL server on their servers. I can't help but think it is probably not related to RackSpace, but rather a configuration issue. There is quite a few references on the internet to this problem for example http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-admin/2011-08/msg00099.php. Have a look at some of the user proposed solutions out there.

Good luck

Rob
